Android 4.2 Jelly Bean may be the latest Android OS version in town, but some handsets are just getting ready to move from Ice Cream Sandwich to Android 4.1. Such is the case of some of Motorola’s latest Android handsets, the Droid RAZR HD and the Droid RAZR Maxx HD.
One reader tells us that Motorola has sent soak test to some Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR Maxx HD users, which means we could see the official Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update get released in the following weeks.
In fact, just a few days ago, another 2012 Motorola handset received its first Jelly Bean flavor, the Droid RAZR M, less than two weeks after its soak test was released, so it’s only logical to see the company upgrade more devices to Android 4.1 – we will add again that it’s still very strange to see a Google subsidiary release Android devices not running the latest Android OS version.
Sure, Motorola tried to appease angry Motorola device buyers not happy with the timeliness of Motorola’s upgrade process by starting a program that would offer them $100 cash back for upgrading to a Jelly Bean device, but that program has its own problems.
Have you received soak test invitations as well?
