Will Huawei’s real flagship device please stand up? With so many new products being announced in the past months, the latest rumors point to Huawei prepping yet another flagship offering to fend off the Samsung Galaxy S4.
The mysterious smartphone, whose specs have leaked in several Chinese web forums, is expected to come with a 4.9-inch full HD display, which makes it bigger than the 4.7-inch Ascend P2, smaller than the huge 6.1-inch Ascend Mate, and just about the same size as the D2.
Huawei might equip the phone with its next gen chip, so we’ll probably be looking at a quad-core 1.7GHz K3V3 processor paired with a Mali T604 GPU. Other rumored specs include 2GB of RAM, a 13MP camera and a 2,600mAh battery.
As for its design, those who are still obsessed with having as thin of a phone as possible will be happy to hear that it will only be 6.3 mm in thickness.
The problem with many of Huawei’s offerings is that it can take forever for them to hit the market after the initial unveiling. Also, the rumored specs — not too different from the Ascend D2, we might add — may not be good enough to make you forget about the Galaxy S4. But if it is priced even lower than the $430 Ascend Mate, it will have a better chance of getting some love from customers.
