The new Sony Xperia M may not be fabulous in terms of specifications, but it may prove a great option for those looking for an affordable device.
Rumored to be working on the high-end Togari and making plans to sell the Xperia Z with a carrier in the U.S., Sony hasn't forgot about the low and mid-end segments of the market.
The Sony Xperia M falls into the same category as the Xperia L, announced earlier this year – a smartphone with decent features, sporting the Omnibalance design philosophy that the Japanese company uses on higher-end devices. The Xperia M also features a nice notification LED light under the screen, which gives it a touch of originality.
The device, which the company has just announced, comes with a 4-inch TFT display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels, and is powered by a dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm CPU and 1GB of RAM.
The internal memory is 4GB, but you can always use a microSD card to supplement it with up to 32GB, while the main camera features a 5MP Exmor RS sensor.

The Xperia M also features NFC functionality, which Sony promoted in relation to the Xperia Z in a nice little ad not long ago, as well as a Stamina mode.
Sony has announced a single SIM version of the Xperia M, as well as a dual-SIM one, called the Xperia Mdual. Four color versions will be available for the new device – black, white, purple, and yellow, but the yellow color option will only be available for the single SIM variant.
