Hot on the heels of the brand new Acer Iconia A1, which was just announced a few days ago, comes the second-generation Acer Iconia B1 with an updated design, improved specs, and optional 3G connectivity. It now sports a look similar to that of Acer’s more expensive, high-end tablets, and yet it’s aimed squarely at the entry-level market. The new Iconia B1 is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor from MediaTek,
the same 7-inch WSVGA display from the previous model, 1GB RAM, and choices of either 8GB or 16GB of internal storage. The Iconia B1 used to be good enough, but now it’s merely good. Acer worked its way through one whole word. And that’s progress.
Acer plans on releasing the Wi-Fi-only version of the Iconia B1 first in Europe, Middle East and Africa starting in mid-June with a €129 price tag. Meanwhile, the 3G-enabled version will be sold for €179. Read the full press release below for all of the details.
