More details about the Pantech Vega Iron, the “bezel-less” device considered by many to be a serious competitor for the Samsung Galaxy S4, have emerged.
As you may remember, some details had been rumored already about the new device, but now Pantech’s flagship has a name: the Pantech Vega Iron. The new device is expected to launch, according to the invitation you can see above, on April 18th.
My Drivers, the site that posted the invitation to the Pantech event, says that the new device’s design will be narrower than the one of the Galaxy S4 – its width will be 7.9 milimeters, as compared to the 8.8 milimeters of the S4. This should be achieved by using the “bezel-less” design that was mentioned in the previous report for the 5-inch Full HD screen. GizChina suggests that the design will be similar to recent Nokia devices, but we’ll have to wait a few more days to see exactly what Pantech has in store for us.
As far as specifications go, the source mentions a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, 2GB of RAM memory, as well as a 13-megapixel camera, with the battery being a 2150mAh one, as previously reported. The new smartphone will run Android 4.1.2.
With Pantech a big name in its native South Korea, making pretty interesting devices (such as the Vega No. 6), we can just hope that they start getting them to the rest of the world, too.
