Well, that certainly didn’t take long. It was only a couple of days ago that we heard for the first time about the Xperia C650X “Odin”, the supposed next Sony handheld phone, and now we already have some specs.
Of course, these are in no way to be trusted, as they come via a member of the Esato forum, but get this – the specs, along with the “Odin” codename, were revealed by “randomuser” back in June. Now we don’t know exactly how did we miss the story at that time, but it’s never too late to discover something like this, is it?
Everybody ready? Drumrolls, please… The Sony Odin will definitely honor the name of the ruler of Asgard if the rumors prove true, being ready to conquer the tech world with a 5-inch 1080p display and a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 processor.
There’s no other phone with such a hardware configuration around, so Sony could really hit it big with Odin. Then again, if the company’s flagship will not come until next year, as that early report claimed, Sony might be undercut by HTC’s DLX, another impressive 5-incher that’s been making the rumor rounds for a while.
The Odin will of course pair the quad-core S4 Pro CPU with 2GB of RAM and feature Sony’s Mobile Bravia Engine, while waterproof and dustproof features might be left out for some reason. That’s not all she wrote though, because Sony is reported to have an even larger 6-incher in the works too, also set to come with a 1080p display, 2 gigs of RAM and an S4 Pro CPU. That kind of “phablet” sounds crazy, but hey, there’s only one small step between Samsung’s 5.5-inch Galaxy Note 2 and a 6-incher, right?
Who’s excited about the 5-inch Odin? How about the 6-incher, is that pushing it too far or it’s just what you’d need?
