US Cellular recently announced an expansion to their 4G LTE network. And following up today, the carrier has announced another 4G LTE capable smartphone. The handset is the Motorola ELECTRIFY M and it will be available beginning on November 8. Well, more specifically, the handset will be available online from November 8 and then show up in retail stores on November 9.
Availability dates aside, lets talk features. The Motorola ELECTRIFY M will be running Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich at launch. It was noted that the handset is upgradeable to Jelly Bean, however given the past history with Motorola, we would suggest not counting on that. Otherwise, the ELECTRIFY M has a “virtually borderless” 4.3-inch display, dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 2000 mAh battery, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera and an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with HDR. The handset is scratch-resistant and water-repellant and also has NFC support.
In terms of the price, this will vary depending on the market you live. If you live in a US Cellular 4G LTE market the price will be $99.99. If live outside of those 4G LTE markets, you will pay $149.99. And just to note, both of those prices come after a $100 mail-in rebate and along with a two-year agreement.
