Calling all book aficionados – the digital kind – in the UK! Barnes & Noble is bringing its Nook Simple Touch Glowlight to fervent readers in the country alongside the Nook HD and Nook HD+ Android tablets.
The Nook Simple Touch Glowlight has been released for a couple of months in the States. Only getting the device now is not always a bad thing, as it’s recently received a price cut back home. The e-reader can be had for £109 on B&N’s website, as well as from high street retailers across the UK.
If you don’t need the built-in reading light found on the Glowlight variant, you can just get the Nook Simple Touch, which is offered for £79. Both variants have a 6-inch touchscreen display, WiFi b/g/n, 2GB storage, microSD card slot (up to 32GB), and a battery that lasts up to a month on a single charge.
As for those who crave for more Android muscles, you’ll have to wait until November 22nd for the arrival of the 7-inch Nook HD and 9-inch Nook HD+ tablets. The former is up for pre-order now for £159 (8GB) and £189 (16GB), while the latter is priced at £229 (16GB) and £269 (32GB).
The 7-inch variant is powered by a 1.3GHz TI OMAP 4470 dual-core processor and has a screen resolution of 1,440 x 900. Meanwhile, the Nook HD+ boasts a 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4470 dual-core processor, and a whopping 1,920 x 1,280 display resolution. Both slates run on a customized version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
