This isn’t the first time we see the Samsung Galaxy S4 pop up in various leaks, but today’s report seems to shed some light on some of the future flagship smartphone’s specs and features.
According to DDaily, the Galaxy S4 will sport a new processor, a 28-nm ARM Cortex-A15 CPU that will hit mass production by the end of the year, if our Google translation is right. In case that sounds somewhat familiar, that’s because we have recently talked about an unknown device, presumably the Galaxy S4, being spotted in tests with a Cortex-A15 CPU in tow.
Dubbed as Adonis, the new processor is expected to offer users high-performance at low-power consumption, which is what is actually expected for mobile processors. A low-power, high-performance graphics processing unit (GPU) will also accompany the new flagship processor family.
Based on all of this, Sam Mobile reports that the Galaxy S4’s CPU will be the Exynos 5450, a quad-core CPU clocked at 2GHz.
The same publication also mentions that the Galaxy S4 will feature a 5-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display and that Samsung may improve the build quality of the Galaxy S family after receiving complaints “about cheap build q[u]ality.”
The Galaxy S4 should be unveiled at some point in the first half of 2013, with a previous rumor – since denied – suggesting that the company may unveil it as soon as MWC 2013.
While it’s definitely likely that next flagship devices from Samsung will feature improved hardware, nothing is yet official. In fact, we expect to see more and more Galaxy S4 rumors as we get closer to 2013.
