Although Sony seemed to have not one, but two new flagship phones in store for us this fall, the Xperia V was mostly ignored whereas the T got all the attention. Oh well, that’s what happens when you mess with 007.
Still, it might soon be V’s time to shine at last, with a couple of Northern Europe countries getting ready for a December launch. Now Sony Russia has confirmed the 4.3-incher is due there next month too, although no exact release date has been made public.
What has been announced is the phone’s retail price in Mother Russia – 24,990 RUB or around $805 for the unlocked, SIM-free version. That’s quite a lot by US standards, but it’s only a tad more than what Swedish and Finnish retailers will be asking for it.
Keep in mind that the V coming in December will only run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, while the one launching in January in France (and probably some other markets too) will have 4.1 Jelly Bean on board. Now, who’s interested in the ICS version and who’s craving for JB butter?
