The Samsung Galaxy S4 is about to be unveiled, but ahead of its launch we already have word that U.S.-based MVNO, Ting, is getting the handset around the same time as the bigger mobile carriers such as Sprint, Verizon and AT&T.
Typically the bigger carriers get new flagships first, then the smaller carriers shortly after. MNVOs generally get the flagship handsets many months later, if not even longer than that, so this is great news for fans of Ting.
Outside of the epic news about the Galaxy S4, Ting also announced they are getting their hands on the HTC One as well, though no exact timeline has been announced. Based on the pre-order page, it seems likely that the One’s launch is just a few weeks away, though.
Having two major flagship devices is a great sign that Ting is already making major headway in the smartphone carrier world. For those that don’t know, Ting is a newer MNVO that uses the Sprint network and has a unique system where you basically only pay for the minutes, texts and data you need. It also makes it easy to add multiple devices that share from the same pool of minutes, texts and data.
While the announcement that the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One are coming is clearly the biggest deal here, Ting also says on its official blog that the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini will be arriving around the same time as the S4 and that an LTE hotspot will be arriving within the next six weeks.
With some of the most exciting smartphones of 2013 making their way over to Ting, are you interested in checking out the carrier for yourself? Already a subscriber, if so, what do you think of the service?
