While we’re waiting for Samsung to update some of its hottest Android devices including the Galaxy S3, Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note to Google’s latest mobile OS version, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, we’re being told that a new Samsung Jelly Bean-based device has been spotted in the wild.
Is it a phone? Is it a tablet? Is it a PMP? We have no idea yet, but Sam Mobile speculates it could be an Android camera or a Tizen device. And we’re definitely interested to see whether the EK-GC100, which is what it’s called right now, will be unveiled at the upcoming IFA 2012 trade show.
The publication notes that the “strange name” is different from current naming conventions for Samsung phones and tablets, which is why we’re even more curious to see what this device is all about.
In addition to running Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, the device is said to sport a screen resolution of 1024 x 600, but not many details are known about it at this point.
We’ll be back with more details on this mysterious Jelly Bean Samsung device once we have them. In the mean time, tell us what you think/hope this thing is in the comments section below!
