Earlier this month we reported on a rumor that suggested the pricing of the Motorola RAZR HD LTE would start at $99.99 through Rogers Wireless. At the time we didn’t know when it was coming for sure, only that it was expected to hit sometime in the fall. It’s now official. The RAZR HD LTE is available today for $99.99 with a 3-year contract, as earlier predicted.
If you prefer a shorter term or like to buy your devices off-contract, we have bad news. While the contract price is practically a steal, shorter term deals on the RAZR HD LTE are extremely high priced. If you really don’t want to commit to three years with Rogers, it is probably better to just pay the full $599.99 for the unlocked version. This is only $100 more than what you get when you sign a 2-year contract. Hoping to get a better deal with another carrier? Apparently it is Rogers or nothing, as this smartphone is an exclusive to the network.
If you don’t mind locking into the same carrier for a few years, this is a rather impressive handset for just $99.99. At the heart of the RAZR HD is a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM and a 4.7-inch 1280 x 720 AMOLED display. Other specs include a 2530mAh battery, 16GB of storage, an 8MP camera and ICS. Jelly Bean is also expected to arrive on the handset down the road. The Rogers website has yet to add the RAZR HD to its line-up, but brick-and-mortar locations should be able to help you if you plan on picking one up right away.
