Looking for a great launcher to use with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean? Developer “Android Does” has now released the latest version of Apex Launcher, which adds many new features including better support and integration for the latest version of Android.

In the new Apex Launcher there is a shortcut to Quick Settings, modifications to the shortcut selection screen, better theme support and much more. Here is the official list of what is new for Apex Launcher:
  •  Merged changes from Android 4.2
  • Option to change icon size
  • New Apex action to expand quick settings
  •  Import desktop data from other launchers
  • Improved theme support
  • Added dock swipe gesture on folders (pro)
  • Added support for Next Honeycomb LWP
  • Fixed shortcut picker for Android 4.2
  • Fixed TouchWiz widget issues
  • Various bug fixes and optimizations
  • Updated translations
You probably noticed that you can now import desktop data from other launchers, including the stock launcher. While this feature sounds very good, we’ll warn you that many users have been complaining that this feature is less than perfect. Still, it is a nice idea and will like improve with future updates.
So why get the Apex Launcher over competitors? One of the best reasons to get the Apex Launcher is that the developer behind it is clearly committed to keeping up with the latest features and functions introduced with Android updates.
While many launchers have irregular update schedules, Apex is always bringing new features and bug fixes to the table. That said, there are many other good launchers out there as well, such as the well-known Nova launcher.
For those interested in the Apex Launcher, there is a free version and a $4 premium version, both available through Google Play.
Have any Android 4.2 users picked this one up yet? If so, what do you think?
