Inspired by the recent success of supersized phones like the Note 2, many companies are releasing Android devices that feature large displays with high resolutions. ZTE is among those companies and has already revealed two such devices called the Nubia Z5 and the Grand S.
The Nubia Z5, which has already been announced officially, is undoubtedly the thinnest 5-inch smartphone that has been officially announced to date. The Z5 also features a stunning full HD display. However, the title of the thinnest 5-inch smartphone won’t remain with the Nubia Z5 for long, because ZTE is set to one up its own creation.
The Grand S, which is ZTE’s second 5-inch smartphone, is going to announce during CES 2013. Grand S is reportedly only 6.9-mm thick, and features a 5-inch screen with an impressive resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The device sports a 13-megapixel camera.
The information has been publicized by ZTE itself in Chinese media. While other specs have not been revealed officially, it’s widely rumored that the ZTE Grand S will feature a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 (APQ8064) processor along with 2GB of RAM and a 2,500 mAh battery.
ZTE’s Grand S, according to the CES event listing, will be announced on January 8 in Las Vegas. The rumored price for the Grand S is 2,799 yuan, which is equivalent to $449. Impressive indeed.
