Regional carrier C Spire Wireless is joining the likes of Verizon and AT&T
in introducing shared data plans for its customers starting next month.
The new plans allow customers to share a single pool of data allowance
on up to 10 devices – be they smartphones, feature phones, tablets, USB
modems, and other connected devices.
For $50 a month, you’ll get
1GB of data allowance, as well as unlimited talk, text, and picture
messaging. The plans go all the way up to $150 for 50GB, though
data-hungry customers can always top up later on. The monthly line
access fees, which you have to pay on top of the monthly data charge,
are $40 for smartphones, $30 for feature phones, and $20 for tablets and
USB modems.
If you’re worried about overage fees, C Spire has a
free mechanism in place that alerts you if you’re about to go over your
monthly data allowance and offer you to purchase more data passes. The
top up ranges from $10 for 500MB and up to $75 for 5GB.

Plans without Costly Fees to Monitor Data Usage and Avoid Overages
RIDGELAND,
Miss.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–C Spire Wireless, the only U.S. wireless provider
that offers a suite of personalized services, announced today that it
will soon introduce new plans that allow customers to share data across
multiple devices without the worry about surprise bills.
The
SHARED Data plans allow customers to share a single data allowance on up
to 10 devices without costly fees to monitor data usage and avoid
overages. The plans include unlimited talk, text and picture messaging
on the nation’s only personalized network. Video streaming and mobile
hotspot service are included in the SHARED Data plans at no additional
charge.
C Spire’s game-changing SHARED Data plans debut on
December 3 and will be available to both new and existing customers who
want the simplicity, convenience and hassle-free option of sharing one
data plan on up to 10 feature phones, smartphones, tablets, modems and
other connected devices with no subsequent bill surprises.

Using SHARED Data Plans
Customers
can start using one of C Spire’s SHARED Data plans by selecting their
devices and choosing a plan that includes unlimited talk, text, picture
messaging and a shared data allowance that starts at 1 GB for $50.
Monthly line access costs included $20 for USB modems, tablets and other
connected devices, $30 for feature phones and $40 for smartphones.
Customers can choose shared data allowances ranging from $50 a month for
1 GB up to $150 for 20 GB. Larger quantities of monthly shared data can
be purchased if needed.
As with most of its personalized
experiences and plans, C Spire conducted research with its Circle and
Inner Circle forums, a community of customers who provide their opinion
and help shape their wireless experiences, in developing the suite of
new SHARED Data plans. “Now customers get the ultimate in
personalization through the ability to choose up front the plan they
want and the price that best fits how they use their phone along with
the flexibility of sharing a single data allowance across multiple
devices,” Hays said.
Unlike other wireless providers that charge
customers $5 per line to monitor usage and automatically impose a $15
per GB charge each time users go 1 KB over their monthly shared data
allowance, C Spire alerts customers and offers them simple and easy to
understand options to purchase – or “top up” – their data allocation
with more affordable shared data passes as needed throughout the month.
The passes, unique to C Spire, start at $10 for 500 MB and range up to
$75 for 5 GB.
Similar monthly shared data plans also are available
for business customers ranging from 1 GB for $50 up to 70 GB for $600.
Businesses who share a data plan with more than 10 devices are subject
to monthly minimum data purchase requirements. Additional shared data
passes also can be purchased as needed throughout the month, Hays said.
Switching to a SHARED Data+ Plan
In
keeping with C Spire’s long standing policy, customers can add or
switch to a new SHARED Data plan without additional fees as there is no
fee or contract extension required to make the move. C Spire will help
customers choose the best SHARED Data or CHOICE plan option.
Choice Plans Personalized for You
The
Choice plan structure is an industry first, allowing C Spire customers
the flexibility to personalize their individual voice and data plan
based on their personal needs. “We’re staying true to offering fair and

C Spire’s
Choice D smartphone plans for individuals range from $60 to $80 a month
for nationwide voice, text, pictures and mobile web. The Choice D+
plans, which range from $80 to $100 a month, include streaming in
addition to the other features for individuals. Family plans are also
available with similar features and personalized options.
