The AT&T 4G LTE rollout is underway at full speed, as the carrier has sent out a few dozen press releases to announce three markets getting 4G LTE now, four in which the services are being expanded, as well as promises of a very busy summer.
Obviously AT&T is also interested in expanding its 4G LTE coverage, apart from competing with Google for fiber services in Austin. Three new markets have 4G LTE services turned on, as AT&T has announced: Jackson in Madison County, Tennessee, including the cities of Brownsville and Humboldt, as well as Napa, California and Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Four markets are getting expanded 4G LTE coverage: in New Haven, Connecticut, the coverage now includes parts of Beacon Falls, Bethany, Naugatuck, Oxford, Prospect and Southbury, while in the San Francisco Bay Area 4G LTE now covers San Rafael, Pittsburg, Antioch, Livermore, Brentwood, and Novato. In Charleston, South Carolina, coverage has been expanded to Walterboro, and now includes Charleston, North Charleston, Johns Island, Mount Pleasant, Summerville, Goose Creek and Walterboro.
Finally, coverage in Greensboro, North Carolina has been expanded so parts of Rockingham County and the city of Reidsville now get 4G LTE.
The busy summer mentioned above is about the promises AT&T has made today in a whole bunch of press releases, one for each market in which it plans to roll out 4G LTE this summer. There are no less than 67 of them, as follows:
