The Galaxy Note 3 is rumored to be the first handset in Samsung’s lineup to include the S Orb panorama camera feature when it launches later this year.
Android Geeks, the publication that provided details about the S Orb feature in the post, says that a software engineer “confirmed” the Galaxy Note 3 will be “the company’s first terminal to come with S Orb out of the box.”

The same engineer said a few months ago that the feature will be available on the Galaxy S4, but the feature wasn’t ready at the time of the Galaxy S4 announcement.
S Orb is said to work similarly to the default Photo Sphere panorama feature available to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean handset users, with the difference that Samsung is “working closely with the world’s most popular social network in order to integrate Facebook sharing on the S Orb.” Comparatively, Photo Sphere lets users share their panoramic pictures on Google Plus.
The S Orb will reportedly roll out to other Samsung Android handsets including the Galaxy S4, the Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2. The publication notes that S Orb will be enabled via a software update following the Galaxy Note 3 launch:
The Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie software update that will roll out post Galaxy Note 3 launch, will bring the S Orb camera feature and other Note 3-specific features on the Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2.
An earlier report also said that S Orb will arrive to other Samsung devices after Key Lime Pie is rolled out.
Google is expected to unveil Android Key Lime Pie during its mid-May Google I/O event, while Samsung is said to announce the Galaxy Note 3 at IFA 2013 in early September.

While Android Geeks seems to suggest that the Key Lime Pie updates for the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 will arrive at some point after the Galaxy Note 3 is official, we’ll advise you to take everything with a grain of salt for now, as there’s no way to confirm future Samsung Android updates at this time.
On the same note, Key Lime Pie is not official either, and we’re unable to confirm at this time the Android number version for Key Lime Pie, even if most rumors seem to suggest that Key Lime Pie is the product name for Android 5.0.
