This is far from the first time we have seen Acer mention the Iconia Tab A110 tablet. In fact, we had seen an introduction back in June and then another in September when Acer updated the spec sheet to include Jelly Bean. Those bits aside though — the Iconia Tab A110 will be available for those in the U.S. and Canada beginning on October 30. As for the price, expect to pay $229.99.
The price is the interesting part here. We are thinking some may believe it to be on the high-side given the price of the current top Android tablet, the Nexus 7. But that being said, lets cover the specs and let you decide for yourself. The Acer Iconia Tab A110 tablet begins with a 7-inch (1024 x 600) display, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot and 2 megapixel front-facing camera.
In addition, the tablet will have goodies to include micro-HDMI, micro-USB, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and a battery that is said to be able to offer up to 7.5 hours of run time. The processor is an NVIDIA Tegra 3 with the Super 4-PLUS-1 Quad Core CPU design with a fifth Battery Saver Core. And we cannot forget Android, which in this case is v4.1 Jelly Bean with Google Play.
All said and done, this tablet does not have the highest of specs. Just for one, the display resolution and internal storage is lower as compared to the Nexus 7. But on the positive side, the Iconia Tab A110 does have micro-HDMI and a microSD card slot for additional storage. The card slot brings support for cards up to 32GB in size.
So there you have it, while we could consider this potential competition for the Nexus 7, those considering a purchase may want to hold off until we see what Google is planning with the price of the 32GB Nexus 7.
