The lesser known LG Lucid 4G was released on Verizon in March. Not surprisingly, its decent sheet of specs was accompanied by Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It was the LG Optimus L7, if we’re not mistaken, that received the honor of being LG’s first Android 4.0 phone – a phone that came out a couple of months after the Lucid 4G.

Fresh from serving Ice Cream Sandwich to owners of Motorola Droid Bionic, the streak continues with the Lucid 4G, as Verizon has also announced that the Android 4.0 update will hit the phone starting today. Do note, however, that the upgrade will be pushed out in phases.
Aside from getting the new firmware as an over-the-air update, those who prefer to download and install the file on their computer – with the phone connected to it – can do so by using the Software Upgrade Assistant Tool. The file size for the ICS firmware is 384.5MB, and you can find the full instructions here.
Ice Cream Sandwich for your Lucid 4G will come with new features, such as customizable lock screen and launch bar, enhanced notification panel, quick dialer widget, and multimedia messaging pop up – where you can easily share pictures, videos, and other multimedia content.
How excited are you to finally get rid of Gingerbread and move up to Ice Cream Sandwich?
