The Samsung Galaxy Camera hasn’t been out the door very long and yet Samsung has already confirmed it is getting an upgrade to Android 4.1.2.
Before you get too excited, remember that this update is a minor one. Beyond bug fixes and speed improvements there probably isn’t much new here from the sounds of it, but it is confirmed to at least offer one noticeable improvement in the form of an updated Gallery App.
The new app is said to basically be the same version as what you’ll find on the Note 2. This means many new viewing modes, layouts, spiral themes and much more.
The 16MP Android-powered camera might not see much different here with 4.1.2, but the changes to the Gallery are certainly welcome.
So when is the update rolling out exactly? Users of the Galaxy Camera in the United Kingdom will see the update first, though other regions are said to get the same update shortly thereafter. The upgrade can be received either through the Samsung Kies update platform or over-the-air.
Has the Android 4.1.2 update rolled out to your local area yet? If so, did you notice any other changes besides the new Gallery app?
