Oh, boy. There sure is plenty of good news about Jelly Bean today. If you own the Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100G, which was released in some Asian and European countries, it’s our pleasure to inform you that you can now join the Jelly Bean party alongside the international (GT-I9100) and South Korean (SHW-M250L) variants of the phone.
The JZO54K update that will take you to Jelly Bean is now rolling out via OTA to the handset. You should be able to grab it via Kies as well, though that does mean you’ll have to connect the phone to the computer and fire up Samsung’s PC companion software.
Once you’ve made the jump, your Galaxy S2 will feel like a whole new phone. After all, the JB firmware replaces the old TouchWiz UI with Nature UX, bringing the device on par with Galaxy S3 in looks and function. You’ll be getting smart features like Direct Call, Smart Stay, and Pop-up Play, new notification bar with more notification toggles, new lock screen and widgets, and more.
Check your phone now to see if the Android 4.1.2 update is waiting there. Let us know below if you’ve gotten the software bump up and how you’re loving it!
