In our review of the HTC One we found very little to fault with the device. Its big, beautiful 4.7-inch display was something to marvel at. It was fast and responsive, and it also had a hardware design that was unparalleled in the Android market. But the phone wasn’t perfect and we did have to take a few marks off of the device because of the use of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Sense 5.0 on top, instead of running the latest version of Android,Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
HTC did promise to bring Android 4.2 to the HTC One soon, but as we all know too well, soon is such a vague term. Nonetheless we now have some information to share on the Android 4.2.2 update, courtesy of Android Revolution HD. While we don't have a date for the update, we do however know some of the included features, assuming the information is accurate.
Reported features include:
- Percentage battery icon, which is shown in an image below.
- The ability to remove icons from the dock and other slight changes to the app drawer.
- The ability to long press the home button and bring up the menu (this relegates Google Now to a swipe up from the home button just like on stock Android)
- Extended quick settings, for easy access to all your settings.
- The popular Daydream feature is also included.
Looking forward to some of these changes to Sense 5? Which new feature is your favourite?
