The wait is over! After a slow start following the component supply shortages that plagued the release of the HTC One, it looks like the official launch of the flagship smartphone is finally picking up speed. Following the availability announcement in Australia, and in the US (with AT&T), there’s some great news for Indian consumers who have been eagerly waiting for the HTC flagship!
HTC India today announced the official launch of the HTC One in the country, albeit with a vague “end-April” release date, with a tip received by AndroidOS.in suggesting an April 22 availability.
This time, HTC has also dealt with the pricing issue that the company has faced in the past (the HTC Butterfly was priced at a whopping Rs 46,000) and has aggressively priced the HTC One at Rs 42,900 (~$810).
With a sleek aluminum body, a live home screen that streams all of your favorite content, a photo gallery that comes to life, and dual frontal stereo speakers, the new HTC One is ready to reshape your smartphone experience.

We expect the Samsung Galaxy S4 to release at a similar, if not higher, price point, so the Rs 42,900 price tag is definitely a good move on the part of the company. HTC also announced a data partnership with RCom (Reliance Communications) to provide 1GB of data free for the first 3 months for HTC One owners, along with free access to Whatsapp and Facebook for the same time period. The delayed release of the HTC One led to a poor Q1 showing financially, but with the device is now making its way to most major markets around the world, and if the excited anticipation is any indication, things should be looking up. The HTC One is a great device,  and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!
