We first heard about Huawei’s MediaPad 7 Lite in July, as it was unveiled alongside its bigger cousin, the MediaPad 10 FHD. It wasn’t until late last month that we got more details of the tablet, such as its full specs and price, as the MediaPad 7 Lite resurfaced during IFA 2012. It seems like a stateside release is imminent, now that it has cleared the FCC hurdle.
So if you’re in the market for a new 7-inch tablet, where cost is a big factor, the MediaPad 7 Lite is worth investigating. Although there’s no confirmation of its price for the U.S. market, the tablet will go for 249 euros, which translates to roughly $310.
Considering that it only packs a single-core 1.2GHz Cortex A8 processor, maybe it’s not that cheap after all. The rest of the specs — which include a 1,024 x 600 IPS display, 1GB RAM, 8GB onboard storage, microSD slot, 3.2MP rear camera, 0.3MP front-facing camera, 4,100mAh battery, and ICS – also doesn’t seem to warrant its expected price. Then again, it does pack 3G radio.
