There’s plenty of hoopla already surrounding the LG Optimus G, but the “beast” might have just become even more intriguing. We’ve seen a very cool teaser video last week, a more serious advertising clip yesterday, and now the first details about the US availability of the Optimus G availability have been leaked.

Before anything, we have to underline the fact that all the following intel has been picked up by Phone Arena from anonymous “Verizon insiders”, which means that the pinch of salt rumors should be seasoned with will turn into a large grain of salt this time around.
That said, let’s dig in! First off, if Phone Arena’s sources prove to be correct, the Optimus G will be marketed by Verizon as the Optimus Blaze. That sounds like a cool enough name for a high-end phone, but it’s certainly not as original as we would have expected.
Samsung’s Galaxy Blaze 4G has been available ever since last spring at T-Mobile, and that’s an entirely different kettle of fish. We’re not saying Sammy will sue LG for using the branding (that’s someone else’s M.O.), but it might be a bit confusing for regular tech users.
Moving on, we have much better news regarding the phone’s spec sheet, which will most likely be as breathtaking as the one already revealed for the Korean Optimus G. That means the Blaze will be powered by the fastest processor around (a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 “Krait”), and will be fully armored with an Adreno 320 GPU and 2 GB of RAM.

Interestingly, Phone Arena’s tipsters mention that the S4 Pro CPU inside the Blaze will be clocked at 1.7 GHz while “omitting” to say if it’ll be a dual or quad-core unit. The already announced Optimus G has a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, so if LG would be able to up that to 1.7 GHz, while keeping the number of cores… I would be sold!
The Optimus Blaze should come with the same 4.7-inch Super IPS+ display with a 1280 x 768 pixels resolution, as well as with the 13MP ultra slim camera with autofocus we saw detailed on the Optimus G yesterday.
The icing on the cake might come in the connectivity department, where the LG Verizon-bound monster is again in record-breaking form. Are you ready for this? The Optimus Blaze is said to become the first ever device to run on Big Red’s yet to be announced 4G LTE+ network, also known as LTE Advanced. That means not only added speed, but also increased security and higher quality voice with VoLTE, according to existing info.
Last, but not least, Verizon is said to start accepting pre-orders for the Blaze “near the end of October”, with the phone’s release set to happen on November 16. The device will start selling at $299 on a two-year contract, which sounds pretty extravagant. Then again, this might just be the snappiest Android phone ever made, so can you put a price on that? The LTE+ rollout will probably not happen until the beginning of 2013 though, so technically the Blaze might still be released with “basic” LTE bands.
I hate to repeat myself, but these are all unverified rumors, so until further notice we should not start making plans. Then again, it’s never too early to start dreaming, is it?
