Helping dispel the myth that an Android tablet has to be very pricey to be thin and pack good specs, we first saw the Archos 101 XS last month, when it was revealed that that the 10.1-inch tablet would be sporting a 8mm thick frame.
Since then, we’ve gotten our hands on the Archos 101 XS and even shared with you our initial impression of the device – with the final verdict being that the mid-range tablet is a worthy purchase, considering its $399 price. If you’re in agreement, you’ll be pleased to learn that the Archos 101 XS is already up for sale on the company’s online store.
The sale seems to be limited only to European customers for now. Those who do their businesses in Euro will have to cough up €379.99 to get the Archos 101 XS. For our friends in the UK, the price is set at £299.99. Note that the price already covers the super thin magnetic keyboard dock (5mm), which also doubles as a cover. As for more pleasant surprises, it seems Archos has bumped up the resolution on the display to 1,280 x 800 pixels.
If you need more convincing, here are the specs of the Archos 101 XS once more:
- 10.1-inch display with 1,280 x 800 resolution
- Dual-core 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4470 CPU
- 1GB RAM
- 16GB onboard storage, microSD support
- 1.3MP front-facing camera
- Mini HDMI port
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (upgradeable to Jelly Bean)
