ZTE Blade 3 confirmed, coming to Northern Europe this month for around $230

Despite promising us Android-based quad-core treats way back at the MWC in February, ZTE still doesn’t seem keen to leave its comfy low-end phone niche for the riskier high-end world.
We can’t be very excited about the inexplicable delays of ZTE’s high-end phones and tabs, but at least the China-based tech company is keeping itself busy. Only hours after making the Warp Sequent official and putting it up for sale at Boost Mobile, ZTE made a new low-ender official.

Like the Sequent, the Blade 3 will probably enjoy only a limited release, restricted to the Scandinavian countries.
We saw the Blade 3 listed by a Finnish retailer just a month ago, but, as we suspected then, Verkkokauppa’s info was slightly inaccurate. The 200 MB of internal memory proved to be either a typo or a crude joke, with the phone actually featuring 4 GB of on-board storage (2.5 gigs user accessible).
The rest of the leaked tech specs proved spot on however, so there’ll be a terribly modest single-core 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM7227A Snadragon S1 CPU powering the Blade 3, as well as 512 MB of RAM. The 4-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 800 x 480 pixels resolution is not that bad.
The decent parts of the spec sheet continue with Android 4.0 ICS, a 5 MP camera on the device’s back, microSD support, DLNA, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, and WiFi 802.11 b/g/n. The 1,600 mAh Li-Ion battery sounds a bit gaunt, though we’ve seen worse before.
ZTE has only issued a couple of press photos starring the Blade 3, but we can already say the phone looks slightly more elegant than in those leaked pics from August. There’ll be two different versions, in white and black, both of which will be weighing 130 grams and measuring 10 mm in thickness.
The white model will come to Finland in September for an undisclosed price, while the black version will hit Sweden next month for 1,499 SEK ($228). The Blade 3 “will launch in other key markets around Europe and the world throughout 2012”, however it has very slim chances of ever making it to American shores.
