Motorola introduced its bootloader unlocking program a few months ago, one that’s designed to let power users tinker with their devices more easily. While the majority of the supported handsets are those that come with the “Developer Edition” label, sold at an unsubsidized price, Moto has added the soon-to-be-released Electrify M to the club.
The Motorola Electrify M, which will hit U.S. Cellular stores on November 9, is available online starting today. Unlike the “Developer Edition” of the Atrix HD, the Droid Razr HD, and the Droid Razr M that are offered at a full retail price in order to gain access to the unlocked bootloader club, the Electrify M can be yours for $99 with a two-year contract.

Other supported devices include the Intel-powered Razr I and the global Razor HD, as well as Sprint’s Photon Q 4G LTE.Getting a developer-friendly phone may sound enticing, but note that it comes at the price of losing your phone’s warranty from Moto. Nevertheless, we foresee an active development scene awaits future Electrify M owners. Will you make the jump?
