Facebook Android app gets “voice messages” update and more

The long and awaited native Facebook app, reportedly built from the ground up, arrived on Android platform last December. It sports a new UI and offers faster loading, improved speed and performance, and other tweaks.

The new app seems to be well-received by many, but there’s always room for improvement, especially if the social network giant wants to keep its 192 million monthly active mobile users, who reportedly access FB from their Android devices, happy.
Facebook aims to keep those “likes” coming by rolling out the latest update to its Android app. Here’s the full changelog:

• Open and view photos faster
• Share your friends’ stories to timelines, pages and groups
• Send voice messages when you have more to say

The Facebook Messenger app was recently updated with a voice messaging feature, but you can now engage in some voice chat fun using the main app. Maybe you’ll also get to make phone calls soon.
