A recent interview with an HTC exec revealed that the company sees the settlement with Apple as a beneficial move, which should help it focus on innovation in 2013 rather than patent litigation and software workarounds.
And from the looks of it, HTC may be getting ready to start the year with a new flagship Android phone announcement right at CES 2013. Sure, the HTC J Butterfly / Droid DNA / Butterfly is the company’s newest Android handset, but the device is not available in all markets, and HTC could really use a high-end device that could go head to head against this year’s top Android smartphones from competitors.
While we don’t have a commercial name for the HTC handset that’s reportedly coming at CES 2013, we already know it as the HTC M7. Initially expected to be unveiled at MWC in Barcelona next month, the M7 could make a surprise appearance in Las Vegas next week (January 8-11).

Moreover it might have screen buttons instead of hardware touch buttons…The M7 seems to be the successor of the HTC One X and the HTC One X+ – in such a case it would make sense to be included in the One family – and is said to sport a 4.7-inch display with 1920 x 1080p resolution, 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 13-megapixel camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 2,300mAh and Android Jelly Bean.
