Samsung Galaxy Note 2 owners on AT&T got their multi-window update back in December, though it didn’t come with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Now another update is being rolled out by AT&T via OTA, one that’s apparently only 8MB in size. What could it be for?
As posted on AT&T’s website, the latest software package comes with a chipset security enhancement that should fix the Exynos vulnerability issue that’s plaguing the Galaxy Note 2, as well as other flagship Galaxy handsets.
In case you’re wondering, the new firmware will bring the baseband to version I317UCAMA4. The device will still remain on Android 4.1.2.
AT&T isn’t the only carrier in the country that’s pushing out the security update to the Galaxy Note 2. In fact, it was only a few days ago that Sprint sent out similar package to its Note 2 variant. If you haven’t received the update notification yet, you can check for it manually by going to “Software update” and tap “Check for Updates”.
Got the small, but essential update yet from AT&T?
