The new 5 inch full HD Sony became available in Japan just over a week ago and now Sony’s flagship phone has hit Europe. The phone is expected to become generally available in Europe this month with it landing in Germany on February 21 and soon after in Sweden. A week later it should launch in Ireland and Finland.
For those in France the wait is now over. The Sony Xperia Z is now in stock and available to order from the official Sony Mobile France webstore for €649. Obviously that is the price without an accompanying subscription. So what does €649 get you? The Xperia Z is has an awesome 5 inch, 441PPI full HD display and is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon S4. But the goodness doesn’t stop there, one of the features that Sony are very keen to emphasize (and rightly so) is the 13.1MP camera with Exmor RS sensor. The high quality camera has been recently pitted against the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Nexus 4 in a nighttime video recording showdown, the Xperia Z won easily!
Not only does it have a great screen, CPU and digital camera, the device is also quite resistant. There are some quite impressive videos showing the device being doused in ink, water, and dust. After all that abuse it still works!
Sony has clearly staked out its place in the 1080p phone wars. But will it win? Let me know your opinion by leaving a comment below. Will you be getting a Sony Xperia Z?
