After launching the Google Fiber service in Kansas City homes, Google is looking to expand its coverage in the area by adding five new neighborhoods in the coming weeks. Google says that after a gradual start it has gotten into a good rhythm of installations and its customer support is improving too, therefore it is ready to add new areas in the list of Google Fiber-supported territories.
Google has already installed Fiber in Hanover Heights and Dub’s Dread. Now the company says that in 2013, after finishing installations in Dub’s Dread it will start installations in five new ‘fiberhoods’ which include Piper Schools, Delaware Ridge, Painted Hills, Open Door, and Arrowhead. In a blog post, Google explained that it has extended a few of the boundaries slightly to add more people to its coverage.
The Google Maps map found on Google’s blog page tells users if their area is included in the expansion or not. For those who have houses in the mentioned areas by Google, the company has released a list with registration deadlines. The installation of Google Fiber in the homes of those who have selected a plan will start shortly after the dates listed below.
