Perhaps taking the “end of the world” thing seriously, ZTE has set the launch of its rumored Nubia Z5 for December 21, which could be ironically the “last day of the world”. In case the device sounds familiar, that’s because it has already appeared in previous leaks via Sino Weibo, sort of the Chinese version of the Twitter.
The ZTE Nubia Z5 will feature a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, a 5-inch 1080p full HD touchscreen display and an impressive 2GB of RAM. The Z5 will also feature a 13-megapixel cam at the back and a decent 2-megapixel cam on the front along with dual speakers and a unibody chasis.
To keep this giant running, a 2,500 mAh battery should get the job done for the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean-powered phone. The phone maker also claims it to be one of the thinnest smartphones out there, measuring just 7.9mm of thickness. Are the size zero girls jealous? Well, they should be! I don’t know if the world is ending or not, but I do know that at $400, this could be the end of competition from similar phones which are priced $100 above Z5.
Those of you interested in the Z5, you can check it out in the CES 2013.
