At this year’s MWC, LG announced a refresh of their popular low-end to mid-range L series of smartphones, which featured some minor hardware improvements, while keeping the design aesthetics similar to its predecessors.
We also know that the series, comprising the Optimus L3 II, the Optimus L5 II, and the Optimus L7 II will have dual-SIM versions as well. It looks like the dual-SIM versions of the L5 II and the L7 II will not only have a slightly different design, with more rounded edges and no physical home button, but will also launch under different names, at least in Taiwan.
The dual-SIM version of the Optimus L5 II will be known as the LG Optimus Duet. Apart from the dual-SIM capability, the specifications of the device across both versions are the same, featuring a 4-inch WVGA display, 1Ghz processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage expandable via microSD, 5MP rear camera, and a 1,700 mAh battery.
The LG Optimus L7 II Dual will launch as the Optimus Duet+, with specifications including a 4.3-inch display with 800×480 resolution, 1Ghz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Play processor, 768MB RAM, 4GB internal storage expandable via microSD, an 8MP rear camera, and a 2,460 mAh battery. All devices in the Optimus L II series will release with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on-board.

While the specifications of the devices are standard fare for most low-end to mid-range Android smartphones available in the market, the sleek design and comparatively low price tags are enough reason to pick up any of the L series devices. Especially in markets like India, a dual-SIM version of such devices could do really well if priced effectively.
