On Thursday evening in New York City, Samsung unveiled what was behind the red curtains: its next flagship phone, the Galaxy S4. Countless rumors and leaks have been seen prior to the event, and now it’s time to dig into the Galaxy S4 US availability and pricing.

American readers, if you’re looking for the full rundown on the Galaxy S4’s pricing, availability and release dates, be sure to read on.

Samsung Galaxy S4 U.S. carrier availability

Last year, the Galaxy S3 made its way to all four major carriers in the U.S. and Samsung is continuing this trend with the Galaxy S4. In fact, Samsung needs to have their newest flagship on all four major carriers if they plan on selling 10 million units a month. We’ve got a list of the carriers the device should be on below:
  • Verizon Wireless
  • AT&T
  • T-Mobile
  • Sprint
  • US Cellular
  • Cricket
While no exact date was given, the Galaxy S4 will be globally available in late April. The carriers will no doubt announce a release date for the Galaxy S4 themselves within a few weeks from now if not in a couple days.
Samsung U.S. has the registration page already up, which will allow you to have all of the latest updates on the Galaxy S4 delivered straight your email. On top of that, signing up for email updates will automatically register you in a contest where you’ll have a chance to win a Galaxy S4.

Samsung Galaxy S4 hardware versions

As you’ve probably heard, the Galaxy S4 will come in both 3G and 4G LTE versions. Depending on the region you live in, the Galaxy S4 will come with either a 1.6GHz Exynos Octa-core CPU or a 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600. We’re likely to see the latter ship in the U.S.

Samsung Galaxy S4 U.S. pricing

Much like the Galaxy S3 and Note 2, expect the Galaxy S4 to run between $199 and $299 on a new two-year contract. As usual, Amazon Wireless should be offering some good discounts a little while after the Galaxy S4′s initial launch.
If you want to snag an unlocked and off-contract version of the device, you can expect to shell out a good $800+. This estimate is based off of Samsung’s previous flagship devices and the amount of new content packed in the Galaxy S4.

Roundup

The Galaxy S4, over the next two months, should be available on every major carrier in the U.S. Expect to shell out between $199 and $299 on a new two-year contact with your chosen carrier. As for the unlocked version, expect to pay $800 or so.
We’ll update this post when more detailed information becomes available.
