CyanogenMod 10 Stable now available for select smartphones

Some good news has arrived for those waiting for a stable release of CyanogenMod 10. Well, some good news has arrived for a select group of smartphone users. The devices that are supported include the Samsung Captivate, Galaxy S2 and Galaxy S3 as well as the LG Optimus Black.
Breaking this device list down a bit further and we have the following;

• Samsung Captivate for AT&T
• Samsung Galaxy S2 for AT&T
• Samsung Galaxy S3 for T-Mobile, US Cellular, Sprint and Verizon Wireless
• LG Optimus Black

The ROM’s all measure in between 150MB and 160MB in size and can be downloaded directly from the CyanogenMod website. Perhaps more important though, CyanogenMod10 brings some goodies to include the expandable desktop mode and a built-in (root-enabled) file manager. That being said, while we are pretty sure that some will be disappointed about not having support for their device just yet, we do think the Cyanogen mod team started with a good selection — especially in the case of the Galaxy S3.
Otherwise, while we are expecting CM10 Stable to arrive for additional devices, as per the standard with Cyanogen — no timeline has been given as to when that will happen.
