Canadian carrier WIND Mobile appears to be readying for another smartphone release. This latest, the Huawei Ascend D1 Quad XL has yet to be officially announced, however judging from a recently leaked promotional poster — we are expecting the handset to arrive fairly soon. Well, more specifically, the poster has the Ascend D1 Quad XL as arriving in November.
So far nothing anymore specific than that. The same goes for the pricing. Nothing firm, however the speculation suggests the handset will debut at somewhere between $450 and $500. And of course, that is a no-contract price. The Huawei Ascend D1 Quad XL will be joining other recent additions including the Galaxy Note 2, Samsung Galaxy S3, LG Optimus 4X and the Huawei Ascend G312.
The features for the Ascend D1 Quad XL include a 4.5-inch (1280 x 720) IPS+ HD display, quad-core 1.4GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera and an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera. All said and done, depending on the price, this could be a handset to consider.
And while we would not necessarily suggest picking a smartphone based on a freebie that comes along with, WIND Mobile is offering two free movie tickets with the purchase of the Ascend D1 Quad XL. The tickets will be for Django Unchained which will begin playing in theaters on Christmas Day.
