What happens when you combine two of Samsung’s 2012 flagship devices in order to create a totally new handset? You get a 5-inch Galaxy Grand apparently, which will reportedly launch by the end of the month and offer buyers the best of the two worlds.
South Korean publication MT has it from “industry sources” that the Galaxy Grand will sport a 5-inch display with 800 x 480 resolution, 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 4412 processor, LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, NFC, 2100mAh battery and Android 4.1.1 out of the box.
The device, whose name apparently hasn’t been decided yet, will apparently look like a slightly bigger Galaxy S3, but it won’t be as big as the Galaxy Note 2. And it won’t be a flagship device either. Instead, the Galaxy Grand will target older users that would appreciate a bigger screen to properly read text.
The Galaxy Grand could be a South Korea-only handset, at least at first, although we’ll be waiting for Samsung to reveal official details about the handset.
We’ll definitely keep looking for more information about this Galaxy Grand device, also known as Baffin / SHV-E270L / SHV-E270L according to TechKiddy, but in the mean time let us know what you think about a new 5-inch Galaxy-branded smartphone. Would you be interested in it?
Thanks, tipster!
