Did you know that, besides Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, MetroPCS, US Cellular and Cricket, there’s a Samsung Galaxy S3 version on C Spire as well? That’s right, C Spire, the minuscule Mississippi-based wireless provider that services well under a million people.
And not only is the S3 available with the carrier, but it’s also being upgraded to Jelly Bean as we speak. A little late compared with the rest of the world, but it’s still nice to see no one will be left behind.
Just like on Verizon, the number one carrier in the States, the flavor of the day for C Spire’s S3 is Android 4.1.2. Sure, Big Red is already at the second JB upgrade, but again, we’re talking about a very small regional carrier today, so glass half full, okay?
You should be able to bump up your S3’s software both over-the-air and via Samsung Kies, so choose the option that best suits you. Remember to have your battery above the 50% autonomy mark and to connect to Wi-Fi if you’re going to grab the 4.1.2 package OTA.
As for specific tweaks and improvements, you’re in for a real treat. You’ll be getting the usual JB stuff, like Project Butter and Google Now, loads of performance enhancements, bug fixes, as well as a bunch of added apps (Chrome, Help, Paper Artist, Voice Search) and widgets (Messaging, My Call Sound, Favorite Apps, etc, etc).
Also, today’s the first time in ages you can brag about being on C Spire, so let us hear it! Who’s swimming in Jelly Bean butter?
