LG is taking its stylish L-series to new heights two steps at a time. After flooding the market with the Optimus L3, Optimus L5, and Optimus L7 – here comes the most grandeur model of them all, the Optimus L9, which the company hopes can boost its presence in the mid-range market.
It’s easy to mistake the Optimus L9 for one of LG’s high-end offerings. But just like the Optimus L7, which has been praised for many things except for its slow and outdated processor, LG has to make some necessary cuts to keep the phone within the affordable price bracket – which is what the L-series is all about.
So while the LG Optimus L9 boasts a 4.7-inch IPS display, the phone is only powered by a dual-core 1GHz processor. The rest of the specs are as follow:
- 1GB RAM
- 4GB onboard storage
- 5MP rear camera
- VGA front-facing camera
- 2,150mAh battery
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
- DLNA, QuickMemo, QTranslator, My Style Keyboard
Some unique apps that have been included are the new QTranslator and My Style keyboard. The former is a smart translation engine that uses OCR technology and supports 44 languages. Meanwhile, with the My Style keyboard you can easily adjust the layout of the keypad when typing with one hand or two hands.
We’ll let you know once LG is ready to share the release date and price of the Optimus L9. Hopefully this will be available for under $400. Interested?
