The latest comScore report on the mobile subscriber market share in the U.S. is out. Collected from over 30,000 mobile subscribers in the country, the trends haven’t changed much in the past months, so we’re seeing the same faces on top of the lists (hint: Samsung and Android).

Customers continue to flock to Samsung, as the Korean manufacturer grabs a 26% share of the mobile OEM market. The second biggest manufacturer in the U.S. is the newly crowned Nexus maker, LG, at 17.7% — though it barely manages to fend off Apple’s surge. The latter now holds a 17.5% share of the market (up 2.1 percentage points), thanks to the release of the iPhone 5.

As for the bottom dwellers, Motorola and HTC come in the third and fourth position with 10.9% and 6.2%, respectively.
When it comes to the ruler of the mobile OS space, Google’s Android is still the platform of choice. The green robot’s share grew by 0.9% to 52.5%. Apple has to be content with being the bridesmaid yet again, even though its share grew the most on a percentage basis to 34.3%.

On the flipside, Blackberry’s share in the U.S. plunged 2.3% to 8.4%, taking the crown as the platform that has lost the biggest market share.
Microsoft’s Window Phone 7 and Nokia’s Symbian saw their market shares fall 0.2% and 0.3% to 3.6% and 0.6%, respectively. We don’t think either camps will be too concerned with the results, what with Windows Phone 8 about to come out and play.
