Things have been pretty quiet on the smartphone front for Acer as of late, with the company seemingly focusing more on churning out Android tablets. After finally shipping the mid-ranger CloudMobile back in October, the Taiwanese is getting ready to launch what may very well be its first Jelly Bean-powered smartphone, the Acer V360.
The Acer V360 was spotted at an FCC-like agency in China with a decent sheet of specs and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean onboard.
Starting with the screen – the V360 boasts a 4.5-inch display with 960 x 540 resolution. The phone is expected to come with a dual-core 1GHz processor of unknown make. If we have to guess, it’s probably Qualcomm’s Snapdragon. Other known specs include a 5MP main camera, a VGA front-facing camera, and 3G connectivity.
At 9.9 mm in thickness and 140 grams in weight, the Acer V360 isn’t exactly slim and lightweight, but it’s not too overly chunky either.
The Acer V360 will arrive in black and white flavors, while the release date is still being kept a mystery. It should find its way to the Chinese market first, which points that the phone will be priced quite competitively.
