The popular Google Now alternative and so called “Siri for Android”, Maluuba, has received a major update that brings shopping integration for major retailers in the U.S. The improvement allows the app to answer queries that are related to shopping, search for products from user’s preferred stores, and suggest products that fall in a specified price range.
For example if a user wants to buy a Kindle from the Amazon store, he or she can simply tell the app that “I want a Kindle from Amazon” and the app will show results specifically from Amazon’s online store. Similarly if users look for products in a specific price range, they can simply say “I’d like to buy a laptop that costs around $500″ and the app will show relevant products costing around $500.
The app supports major US stores including JCPenney, Aldo, eBay, and Amazon. While the shopping integration in Maluuba is quite good, the company plans to add more features and make it capable of handling more complex input from the users.
The app already allowed users to set reminders, find businesses and restaurants, play music, find a shop, check whats happening in their neighborhood, connect to social networking sites, ask general knowledge questions, get directions and more.
If you want to replace Google Now with Maluuba, you can download it from the Play Store for free.
