In case you happen to own a U.S. Cellular Galaxy S2, then you’ll be happy to hear that the carrier is finally ready to roll out the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the device – better late than never, right?
ICS build number FK19 is now available for download for the handset, and you can finally make the jump from Gingerbread, at least officially, because some of you may already be running a custom ROM on the device.
As for the Jelly Bean upgrade for this particular Galaxy S2 version, we have no news on that yet. Samsung has not rolled out any Jelly Bean upgrade for any of the existing Galaxy S2 versions out there, although it should do so in the near future. However, considering that your U.S. Cellular Galaxy S2 is only getting Ice Cream Sandwich now, we’d be very surprised to see Jelly Bean arrive in a more timely fashion.
Then again, while we can’t advise you run custom ROMs on any device and it’s up to you to decide whether you want to do it or not, we will remind you that there are plenty of ways to have your Android handset run the latest Android version if waiting for the carrier is not an option anymore.
Have you upgraded to Android 4.0.4 yet?
