Around 1.5 million new Android devices are activated each day. According to a new research study conducted by Google and Compete,
35 percent of cell phone purchases are driven by consumers’ desire to
have the “latest and greatest device”. This number is up 10 percent from

individuals select a phone first and then a carrier. Among those who are
switching carriers, that number jumps to 48 percent. Around 47 percent
considered two or more carriers when opting for a new phone, and 66

consumers in finding the best value, with 80 percent of all research
done online.
