While the HTC One is available in the USA nationwide from three of the Big Four carriers and plenty of other retailers, some buyers will be disappointed to hear that the unlocked model as well as the developer edition version have been delayed until a later date.
HTC took orders for the unlocked 32GB One and for the developer 64GB One versions right on its website, but it will take a while longer to deliver them.
Shipping dates for these HTC One models have not been offered in the email HTC has apparently sent out to buyers, but the company does say that it expects “to have your phone delivered to you, via overnight shipping, before the end of April.”
The company doesn’t explain the reason behind the delays, but there are some “shipping issues” with the handsets. Moreover, “due to overwhelming demand” the free protective case will be shipped at some point in the second half of May.
Compared to the overall delayed HTC One launch, this is a minor hiccup, especially considering that most HTC One buyers will most likely get their Ones from carrier stores or third party retailers. But at the same time, we’ll remind you that HTC ran out of stock for the unlocked and developer editions during pre-orders, which means plenty of people will be annoyed to hear about these shipping problems.
