The Samsung Galaxy Camera Wi-Fi only edition will be available “later this month” in the U.S., according to a press release by Samsung, priced at $450.
The news comes just as rumors of a second-generation Galaxy Camera coming to IFA in September have started to appear, saying that the new model will have better specs and faster data speeds. It remains to be seen whether they’ll come true or not, but fact is that the Samsung Galaxy Camera Wi-Fi could still be quite appealing to those who don’t need to upload their photos to their site (or social network) the second they’re taking them.
In exchange, those getting the Wi-Fi only version of the Android Jelly Bean camera do get a price decrease, from the $549 the 3G camera costs at Verizon, or the $499 it costs at AT&T (with a month-to-month data connection). While it’s not a huge price drop, it’s still something, if you’re not using said connection anyway.
The camera will be available, on the company’s website, as well as at authorized retailers (Samsung’s Best Buy Experience Shops will most certainly fall into that category).
In case you want to buy a Samsung Galaxy Camera, do you plan on going for the Wi-Fi only version?

well...if it was a phone,i would buy it.or at least a camera with a smartphone functionality...is not that hard.a long time ao i saw a slim casio point and shoot, exilim i guess, and it was so preety and i thought:if only had a gsm module in it to be able to make phones,it will be all i want from a portable device(LG also had a tentative but it was not that good).I certanly believe they could put an micro-sim in it,,and it were perfect...but..this are grey-times in tech...untill someone will know how to combine best from any world and put in in a gadget, slim enough and portable
