It’s only a matter of time until HTC will be making the dreamy Droid DNA (aka DLX) reality, but before anything there’s a new kid around the block that you might be interested in.
The Operaul is the (bizzare) codename of the newly uncovered HTC device, and, although this won’t break any speed records, it doesn’t look half bad either. Leaked in a NenaMark 2 benchmark, this is thought to come sporting a 1280 x 720 pixels resolution display with a yet to be revealed resolution, while under the hood there’ll be an Adreno 305 GPU ticking.

The processor will be clocked at 1.4 GHz and will definitely come from Qualcomm, although its exact model is unknown right now. We suspect this might be a dual-core Snapdragon S4 Plus chip, but that’s just a guess.
What’s not a guess is the Operaul’s running of Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, which is a pretty pleasant surprise seeing as the actual NenaMark 2 result doesn’t exactly point at this being a super-snappy phone.
Don’t get us wrong, the 38.90 frames per second reached by this new guy should translate into decent overall graphics performance, but it’s just that the result is way off Samsung Galaxy S3 or HTC One X’s scores of over 45 or even 50 fps.
Could the Operaul be a version of an already existent HTC phone? Will it be a new handheld altogether? How about its price, how much would you be willing to pay for JB, a 720p display, and a dual-core CPU? Let us know your thoughts below.
